# SoundLatch Privacy Policy Last updated: July 29, 2026 Applies to SoundLatch for Android, including phones, tablets, Android TV, and Google TV. ## Summary SoundLatch has no SoundLatch account, advertising, first-party analytics, crash-reporting backend, or server operated by the developer. Profiles, compatibility results, schedules, settings, and bounded session history are stored locally on the device. SoundLatch uses Google Play Billing for the optional one-time Pro purchase. Google Play and packaged Google components may process purchase-related and technical data under Google's policies. SoundLatch does not receive payment-card or bank-account details. ## Information stored locally SoundLatch may store: - Profile names, signal settings, auto-stop settings, and Android-reported output labels - Compatibility-test mode, duration, result, audibility answer, API level, date, and optional note - Reminder days, times, and associated local profile - Recent session start time, duration, signal, route category, and stop reason - Appearance, onboarding, last-selected profile, permission-rationale, and free-trial preferences - A limited cache of the last verified Pro entitlement state SoundLatch's first-party code does not upload this content. Android backup or device-transfer services may handle included local data according to the user's Google Account and device settings. The Pro entitlement cache is excluded from backup and transfer and is rechecked with Google Play. ## Audio and connected outputs SoundLatch generates and plays an audio stream. It does not record or listen to audio, request microphone permission, read audio files, or upload generated audio. Android may report a display label and category for connected output sinks. SoundLatch uses that information locally to show an expected output. Android's public SDK does not prove the final sink chosen by audio policy, and SoundLatch does not collect Bluetooth MAC addresses or claim to verify a physical device. ## Google Play purchases Google Play Billing 9.1.0 is used for the one-time Pro product. - Google Play handles payment and account information. - SoundLatch receives product information and purchase state needed to display the offer, launch purchase, acknowledge a completed purchase, restore ownership, and remove access after refund or revocation. - Purchase tokens remain inside the billing integration and are not written to SoundLatch UI state, logs, or persistent app storage. - A previously verified entitlement may be cached temporarily while Play is unavailable. - Google Play and packaged Google components may communicate with Google services under Google's privacy terms. ## Network and SDK behavior SoundLatch has no first-party HTTP client, account backend, advertising endpoint, or analytics endpoint. The packaged app includes network permissions and Google components required by Google Play Billing. The Google Play Data Safety form must reflect the exact SDK versions included in the uploaded release bundle. ## Permissions SoundLatch declares permissions for: - A foreground service and media-playback foreground service - Notifications - Restoring user-created reminder alarms after reboot The merged package also includes dependency-provided billing, internet/network-state, wake-lock, and AndroidX receiver-protection permissions. The Media3 wake lock is scoped to active playback and is released when playback pauses or stops. SoundLatch does not request location, Bluetooth scan/connect/advertise, microphone, storage, contacts, phone state, exact alarms, installed-app access, overlays, accessibility service, or battery-optimization exemption. ## Reminders A reminder posts a notification and may select the saved profile when the user opens SoundLatch. Reminder alarms are re-armed after reboot, app replacement, or clock/timezone changes. A reminder never starts playback or a foreground service automatically. ## Deleting local data Users can delete profiles and history where exposed in the app, use Android Clear storage, or uninstall SoundLatch. SoundLatch operates no first-party server containing those local records. Google Play purchase history remains governed by the user's Google Account and Google Play. ## Children SoundLatch is a general utility, is not directed at children, and contains no advertising, social features, or user-to-user content. ## Changes This policy will be updated before a release that materially changes data handling, network behavior, or packaged SDK behavior. ## Contact Questions about this policy or SoundLatch can be sent to Quazmoz@vivaldi.net.
