# SquadTap Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
SquadTap is a standalone Wear OS group-assignment utility developed by Quinn Favo under the Quazmoz developer identity. This policy describes the 0.6.0 production candidate with package name com.quinnfavo.squadtap.
## Summary
SquadTap creates randomized numbered winners, partners, balanced teams, turn order, and Tap and Pass assignments directly on a Wear OS watch. The current release does not require an account or phone companion, transmit participant information or generated assignments to the developer, include advertising or developer analytics, or use a SquadTap-operated backend.
SquadTap is free to download. It offers one optional one-time in-app purchase, SquadTap Pro, which is processed by Google Play. There is no subscription.
## Information processed locally
Depending on the workflow selected, SquadTap may temporarily process the following information on the watch:
- Participant counts
- Temporary numbered-player identifiers
- Winner, team, partner, and turn-order assignments
- Team and partner color, symbol, and spoken-label presentation tokens
- Temporary individual Tap and Pass results
- In-memory screen, validation, and workflow state needed to operate the app
This information is used only to provide the requested on-watch workflow.
## Information not collected by the developer
The current release does not intentionally transmit participant counts, numbered identifiers, generated assignments, Tap and Pass results, or interaction content to Quinn Favo, Quazmoz, or a SquadTap-operated service.
SquadTap has no developer account system, cloud database, remote roster synchronization, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, remote-configuration SDK, or third-party crash-reporting SDK.
## Local storage and retention
The 0.6.0 release does not persist participant names, generated assignment history, raw touch coordinates, voice transcripts, raw audio, or individual Tap and Pass reveal history as durable app content.
The only information SquadTap stores durably is a small Pro entitlement record in private application storage. It contains whether Google Play last confirmed the Pro purchase and the time of that confirmation. It contains no purchase token, order identifier, payment detail, email address, or Google account identifier, and it is never transmitted. Its purpose is to keep Pro features working while the watch is offline.
Workflow information is retained in memory only as needed for the active session. It may be removed when the workflow is reset, the app process is stopped, app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
The Android manifest disables application backup for this release.
## Tap and Pass privacy
Tap and Pass can show an individual assignment before the watch is handed to the next participant. SquadTap clears the visible result before entering the neutral handoff screen and conceals a reveal when the app leaves the foreground.
While an individual private result is visible, the release also protects that screen from screenshots, screen recording, and recent-app previews. These controls reduce accidental disclosure but do not provide encryption or guaranteed secrecy.
Tap and Pass should not be used for secrets, identity verification, gambling, financial decisions, access control, or other high-stakes purposes.
## Permissions and platform access
The current production manifest does not request location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, body-sensor, activity-recognition, notification, broad-storage, or background-execution permissions. No runtime permission prompt is shown.
The manifest does include the Google Play billing permission and the internet and network-state permissions. These are contributed by the Google Play Billing library so that purchases and entitlement checks can reach Google Play. SquadTap does not open network connections of its own.
The manifest declares that Wear OS watch hardware is required and that SquadTap is a standalone watch application. Only the launcher activity is exported.
## Internet and third-party services
The current release declares the Android internet and network-state permissions because the Google Play Billing library requires them. SquadTap does not communicate with a SquadTap-operated backend, and no assignment, participant count, or Tap and Pass result is sent anywhere.
Network activity in the app comes from Google Play Billing and Google's associated libraries while checking the Pro product, completing a purchase, and confirming entitlement.
Android, Wear OS, Google Play, and device manufacturers may independently process technical information as part of operating the device, distributing the app, delivering updates, processing an in-app purchase, or maintaining platform security. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
## Purchases
SquadTap is a free download and uses Google Play Billing for one optional one-time purchase, SquadTap Pro. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
Google Play processes the purchase, payment details, tax, receipts, and payment account information according to Google's own policies. SquadTap does not receive or store payment-card details, bank information, billing addresses, Play account credentials, Google account identifiers, or purchase tokens.
SquadTap stores only a local record of whether Google Play last confirmed the purchase, and when, so that Pro features continue to work while the watch is offline. SquadTap re-checks entitlement with Google Play when the app opens and when it returns to the foreground. If Google Play confirms that the purchase is no longer valid, for example after a refund, Pro features are locked again. Offline access from the local record is time limited rather than permanent.
Free features never depend on a purchase, a network connection, or Google Play being reachable.
## Data sharing and sale
SquadTap does not sell personal information. The current release does not share participant information or generated assignments with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or a developer backend.
Information may be disclosed if required by applicable law or a valid legal request. Platform providers may process information independently where required to provide their services.
## Security
SquadTap reduces exposure by keeping current workflows local, avoiding a developer backend, not persisting assignment history or private reveal history, clearing Tap and Pass results before handoff, protecting visible private reveals from capture, disabling cleartext network traffic, limiting exported components, and relying on Android application sandboxing.
No software or device can guarantee absolute security.
## Children's privacy
SquadTap is a general-purpose utility and is not specifically directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Teachers, coaches, and other organizers should consider their own legal and organizational requirements when using any group-assignment tool.
## Data deletion
Temporary workflow information can be removed by resetting or leaving the workflow. Users may remove all app-local state, including the local Pro entitlement record, by clearing SquadTap storage in Wear OS settings or uninstalling the app. Removing local data never requires a purchase.
Clearing local data does not cancel or refund a purchase. The Pro entitlement is held by Google Play against the purchasing Google account and is restored automatically on reinstall, or manually with the Restore purchase action.
SquadTap does not operate an account or cloud service that requires a separate account-deletion request. Refund requests are handled by Google Play.
## Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if SquadTap changes its features, permissions, storage behavior, billing, analytics, crash reporting, device communication, or third-party services. The updated date will change when a material revision is published.
