# WalkReset Privacy Policy Last updated: August 24, 2026 WalkReset is a standalone Wear OS movement-break and productivity utility developed by Quinn Favo under the Quazmoz developer identity. ## Summary WalkReset is designed to keep routine and movement data local on your watch. The app does not require a WalkReset account, advertising, analytics, a cloud backend, or a phone companion. Routine settings, current routine state, technical diagnostics, walking-challenge progress, and routine-history events are stored only inside the app's local watch storage. WalkReset offers an optional one-time Lifetime Pro purchase. Google Play processes that transaction and provides purchase-status information to the app so it can unlock or restore Pro. WalkReset does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank details. ## Information processed on your device WalkReset may process and store local information needed to operate, recover, summarize, and license the routine, including: - Whether the routine is enabled. - Your reminder interval, active-hour preset, active-day preset, and reminder style. - Current cycle, reminder, pause, snooze, stop-for-today, and recovery state. - Expected reminder deadlines and cycle identifiers. - Technical timing diagnostics such as expected and actual callback times and delivery delay. - Immutable routine events such as cycle start, break due, snooze, escalation, pause, skip, completion, and schedule interruption. - Your selected local history-retention option. - Derived walking-challenge progress such as qualifying duration and step totals. - A local cached flag indicating whether Google Play most recently verified Lifetime Pro ownership. Routine state and diagnostics are stored in Android Preferences DataStore. Immutable routine events are stored in a local Room database. History events contain a stable event ID, event type, timestamp, optional cycle ID, and an optional bounded derived annotation. Continuous raw sensor streams are not stored. This app-local information remains on your watch unless Android or Google Play performs the separate purchase processing described below. ## Movement and sensor information When you explicitly start a five-minute walking challenge, WalkReset may request Android activity-recognition permission and temporarily register the watch's platform step-counter sensor. The sensor listener is active only while that walking challenge remains active. WalkReset uses positive step-count changes and their timestamps to calculate local challenge progress. It does not record or retain a continuous raw accelerometer stream, location, route, heart rate, sleep, microphone audio, or other health measurements. The cumulative system step-counter value is used only as a temporary baseline; WalkReset stores derived progress needed to recover the active challenge and summarize completion. If permission is denied or a compatible step counter is unavailable, WalkReset explains that walking verification is limited or unavailable. Permission is requested at the point of need rather than at first launch. ## Google Play purchases WalkReset uses Google Play Billing to offer the non-consumable product walkreset_pro_lifetime. Google Play may process information associated with the transaction, such as your Google Play account, purchase status, payment method, country or region, and transaction records, according to Google's own terms and privacy practices. WalkReset receives the purchase state, product identifier, purchase token, acknowledgement state, and related billing response needed to unlock, restore, or revoke Lifetime Pro. WalkReset: - Does not operate its own payment server. - Does not receive or store your full card number, bank account details, or Google account password. - Does not sell purchase information. - Uses purchase status only to provide and maintain Lifetime Pro access. - Caches the last verified entitlement locally for temporary offline use. - Rechecks ownership through Google Play when the app starts or resumes and when you choose Restore purchase. ## Information not collected or transmitted to the developer WalkReset does not collect or transmit to the developer: - Name, email address, or WalkReset account credentials. - Advertising identifiers. - Precise or approximate location. - Contacts or calendar data. - Photos, audio, or video. - Full payment-card or bank details. - Web browsing activity. - Continuous raw motion recordings. - Local routine history, settings, walking progress, or timing diagnostics. ## Sharing and service providers WalkReset does not sell personal data or share routine, movement, or history data with advertisers, analytics providers, or a developer backend. Google Play acts as the payment and entitlement service provider for the optional Lifetime Pro purchase. Purchase processing is governed by Google Play's applicable terms and privacy practices. No other third-party behavioral SDK is included. ## Network, backup, and cloud services WalkReset does not declare the Android internet permission and does not use a developer-operated backend, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or cloud synchronization. Cleartext network traffic is explicitly disabled. Google Play Billing communicates with the Google Play app and services through the platform billing integration. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for WalkReset app data. DataStore state, Room history, files, preferences, and other app-local domains are excluded from configured extraction rules, so scheduler, routine history, and cached entitlement state are not restored onto another device through Android backup or transfer. Lifetime Pro can instead be restored by Google Play when the same purchasing account owns the product. ## Permissions WalkReset may request or use: - Activity recognition: requested only when you start a walking challenge, so WalkReset can read local step-counter changes and verify progress. - Notifications: to show due and overdue movement-break reminders. - Boot completed: to restore the local routine after the watch restarts. - Vibration: to provide watch reminder feedback, subject to your device and notification-channel settings. - Google Play Billing: to display, sell, acknowledge, verify, and restore the optional Lifetime Pro purchase. Development builds used for physical timing validation may additionally request exact-alarm special access. Public candidate builds do not declare either exact-alarm permission. Debug-only tooling is not part of candidate release artifacts. ## Retention and deletion WalkReset provides local history-retention choices of 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, or indefinite retention to Lifetime Pro users. Free users can still view today and the rolling seven-day summary and can delete local history. Finite retention is applied using local calendar dates and removes events older than the selected period. The watch UI provides controls to: - Delete history events from the current local calendar day. - Confirm and delete all locally stored history events. These actions remove history records only. They do not disable the routine, erase the active scheduler snapshot, change reminder settings, cancel Lifetime Pro, or delete the Google Play purchase record. Current routine state, settings, challenge progress, timing diagnostics, and the local cached entitlement remain on your watch until they are overwritten, Android app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Clearing app storage or uninstalling WalkReset removes app-local DataStore, Room, and cached entitlement data. It does not remove the Google Play purchase, which can be restored from the purchasing account. Arbitrary custom date-range deletion and export are not currently implemented. ## Security WalkReset reduces exposure by keeping routine data local, declaring no internet permission, disabling cleartext traffic, cloud backup, and device transfer, avoiding unnecessary SDKs, using non-exported production components, protecting debug-only tooling, and storing derived records instead of raw sensor streams. Android application sandboxing protects local DataStore, Room, and entitlement-cache files. Google Play protects and processes purchase records under its own security controls. No software can guarantee absolute security, but WalkReset is designed to avoid collecting or transmitting data that its core function does not need. ## Children's privacy WalkReset is a general wellness and productivity utility and is not specifically directed to children. The Google Play target-audience declaration should reflect the released product and store listing. ## Wellness disclaimer WalkReset is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Users should choose movement goals appropriate to their circumstances. For medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, consult a qualified healthcare professional. ## Changes to this policy This policy may be updated when WalkReset adds or changes features, permissions, SDKs, purchases, retention, export, phone synchronization, or backend behavior.
