# WristLux Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
WristLux: Wear OS Light Meter is a local-first ambient light meter for Wear OS published by Quazmoz / Quinn Favo.
## Data WristLux accesses
WristLux accesses the watch ambient light sensor while the meter screen is active. This sensor is used to display approximate light readings in lux or foot-candles.
Ambient light readings can vary by watch model, wrist angle, shadows, cases, sleeves, and sensor placement. WristLux is intended as a quick ambient light reference and is not a certified professional light meter.
## Data stored locally
WristLux stores a small amount of app data locally on your watch so the app can function correctly:
- Preferred unit, such as lux or foot-candles.
- Calibration multiplier.
- Selected light mode.
- Whether the first-launch guide has been completed.
- Latest valid light reading, selected unit, and timestamp used by the app, tile, and watch face complication.
This data stays on your device. WristLux does not send this data to a WristLux server.
## Tile and watch face complication
The WristLux tile and watch face complication display cached local light-reading data from the app. They do not continuously poll the light sensor in the background and do not transmit data to the developer.
## Data collection, sharing, and sale
WristLux does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data with the developer or with third parties. WristLux does not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, account registration, a developer backend, custom cloud sync, or in-app purchase SDKs in the current app code.
## Google Play purchase processing
WristLux is distributed as a paid app through Google Play. Google Play may process purchase, payment, account, tax, refund, and fraud-prevention information according to Google's own policies. WristLux does not receive, store, or process your payment card details.
## Permissions
WristLux is designed to avoid dangerous or sensitive Android runtime permissions. The current manifest does not request access to location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, files/photos, health data, body sensors, advertising ID, or internet.
## Data retention and deletion
WristLux local app data remains on your watch until you remove it or reset it through Android/Wear OS system controls. You can delete WristLux local data by uninstalling the app or by clearing the app storage from system settings. Because WristLux does not create accounts or maintain a server-side database, there is no server-side account data to delete.
