Planned Features

  • Track a tennis match directly on a standalone Wear OS watch without requiring a phone companion or account
  • Use deterministic tennis scoring for points, deuce, advantage, games, sets, serving context, and tiebreak state in the current tennis implementation
  • Start a bounded voice-scoring request explicitly from the active match screen on supported watch runtimes
  • Request Android on-device speech recognition only when the runtime reports that capability available; RallyCue does not silently fall back to a generic cloud-capable recognizer
  • Validate a recognized score phrase against the current deterministic match state before it can mutate the score
  • Require confirmation or reconciliation when a result is uncertain or appears to skip a reachable point instead of silently guessing
  • Use large touch controls when voice is unavailable or unwanted and Undo the previous accepted state when needed
  • Store authoritative active match state and bounded Undo recovery snapshots locally on the watch
  • Use an explicit user-started, non-exported microphone foreground service for the bounded recognition session; raw microphone audio is not stored by RallyCue
  • Current Gate 0 source has no INTERNET permission, backend, cloud sync, ads, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, Play Billing integration, Tile, or complication
  • RallyCue is still in Gate 0 qualification; voice reliability, device compatibility, battery impact, and production release readiness have not yet been broadly qualified on physical watches

Frequently Asked Questions

Which sport does RallyCue support right now?

The current implemented and documented scope is tennis. Pickleball and padel are planned possibilities, not shipped features, and are not advertised as current support.

Does voice scoring work on every Wear OS watch?

No. RallyCue enables its current voice path only when the watch/runtime reports the required on-device recognition capability. Touch scoring remains the fallback.

Does RallyCue listen continuously during a match?

No. The current voice path is explicit and user-started. Each recognition request is bounded and can be stopped; RallyCue does not advertise continuous or all-day listening.

Does RallyCue require internet or a phone companion?

The current Gate 0 Wear OS app is standalone and does not declare the INTERNET permission. Voice scoring is enabled only through the explicit on-device recognizer path when that capability is available.

Does RallyCue store my microphone audio?

RallyCue does not persist raw microphone audio. It keeps local match state, bounded Undo snapshots, and bounded development diagnostics used for qualification.

Does RallyCue have a Tile or watch-face complication?

Not in the current Gate 0 source. RallyCue does not advertise Tile or complication support until those surfaces are actually implemented and release-verified.

Is RallyCue available on Google Play now?

Not yet. RallyCue is still in Gate 0 development and physical-watch qualification, so this page intentionally marks it as coming soon.
