MetricSplice Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 6, 2026
Quick Summary
MetricSplice is a local-first Android personal metrics dashboard. Its selected Health Connect records, app-usage observations and manual values remain in private on-device storage; exports and bug reports leave only on user action. Plus purchases use Google Play Billing.
App-Specific Details
Specific data handling practices for MetricSplice.
- Metric names, observations, goals, health values, app-usage values and settings are kept in an on-device Room database. Automatic Android backup is disabled.
- Supported Health Connect readings need user authorization for each data type and are not uploaded to a MetricSplice server.
- Optional Usage Access reads selected-app or total screen-time records and retains accepted numeric observations locally.
- Screen Metric Accessibility observation is experimental and debug-only in the current build; any enabled build requires explicit consent and only observes configured apps.
- Google Play processes optional Plus purchases. No developer metric backend, advertising SDK or analytics SDK is used.
- CSV/JSON exports and bug reports are shared only when the user chooses. Full JSON backups are not encrypted.
- Local metric data can be deleted in Settings. Exported files and Google Play records are managed separately.

MetricSplice Privacy Policy

Canonical URL: <https://consultant.quinnfavo.com/privacy/metricsplice>
This policy covers the Android app MetricSplice (package com.quazmoz.metricsplice). MetricSplice is a personal metrics dashboard with user-entered data, optional Android usage metrics and Health Connect records you authorize.
Local information and storage
MetricSplice stores metric names, accepted numeric observations and times, units, goals, source settings, provenance, and dashboard preferences in an app-private Room database. It has no MetricSplice account, developer-operated metrics backend, cloud sync, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or remote metric logging. Android automatic app-data backup is disabled.
Health Connect
With your permission, the app can read Steps; Sleep sessions including Light, Deep and REM stages; Weight; Exercise sessions for exercise duration; Resting Heart Rate; and Heart Rate Variability (HRV/RMSSD). Each type is accessed only when you choose a corresponding metric and authorize it. Sleep-stage metrics use the Sleep permission. Exercise-duration metrics do not request exercise routes or location.
Health values are used for your on-device dashboard and history, not for medical advice. MetricSplice does not upload, sell or share Health Connect records with the developer or advertisers. Revoke Health Connect permissions in Android settings to stop future reads; previously stored local observations are not automatically deleted when permission is revoked.
Usage Access
Android Usage Access is optional. When enabled for a chosen usage metric, MetricSplice reads Android UsageStats for selected apps or for total screen-time measurements where configured. It stores the accepted daily numeric observations and associated source information locally, not browsing activity or network traffic. You can revoke Usage Access in Android settings.
Experimental Screen Metrics
The current release build has no Screen Metric AccessibilityService; that service is included only in debug builds. In builds that explicitly provide Screen Metrics, the feature is optional and requires a prominent disclosure and affirmative user consent. It observes only user-configured app packages to extract specific numeric values. It does not click, scroll, type, automate other apps, capture passwords, save full accessibility trees or unrelated screen text, or transmit screen content to the developer. The user can pause/disable Screen Metrics and revoke Accessibility access in Android settings.
Google Play purchases
Google Play Billing handles the optional one-time MetricSplice Plus purchase. Google processes transaction and payment details under its own terms; MetricSplice retains a local cached purchase ownership flag. Metric values, Health Connect records, UsageStats results and Screen Metric text are not attached to the purchase. Google Play services can communicate as part of purchase processing; that is not a MetricSplice metrics upload.
Exports, backups and support
CSV history exports and JSON backups/restores use Android's document picker or share interfaces after you choose a destination. A full backup includes sensitive local history and is not encrypted. Protect exported files yourself; storage, access and retention at the selected destination are outside MetricSplice's control.
Report a bug creates a local share-sheet draft with the app version, device model/manufacturer and Android version, and blank issue-description fields. Metric names and values, Health Connect records, UsageStats history, screen text, logs and purchase tokens are not automatically attached. Nothing is sent unless you select a recipient and share it.
An external privacy or support website only opens on your request. Any information you submit there is covered by the website's privacy terms.
Deletion and retention
Delete an individual observation, delete a metric and its history, or choose Settings > Delete all metric data to remove saved metrics, observations, goals, source settings and Screen Metric consent. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes app-private data. Deletion does not cancel or remove a Google Play purchase or Google's payment records. Any backup or export you saved elsewhere must be removed from that destination separately.
