Quick Summary
Morrowstead is a local-first Android habit tracker with an optional Wear OS companion and a 3D settlement that is derived from durable habit history. Habit content stays on the user’s devices; paired phone/watch synchronization uses Google Play services Wear OS Data Layer, optional Pro uses Google Play Billing, and the app has no Morrowstead account, developer-operated backend, advertising, behavioral analytics, or crash-reporting SDK.
App-Specific Details
Specific data handling practices for Morrowstead.
- Stores habits, schedules, completion history, settings, world identity, reminder state, and derived presentation state locally on the user’s devices.
- The Android phone is authoritative for shared habit history. The optional Wear OS companion keeps a bounded local mirror and pending actions and synchronizes them with the paired phone through Google Play services Wear OS Data Layer.
- Optional one-time Pro uses Google Play Billing. Google processes the purchase; Morrowstead does not store payment-card details, order IDs, or raw purchase tokens.
- User-created exports are written only to the document location the user chooses. Automatic Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for Morrowstead app data.
- Report a bug is user-initiated through Android’s share sheet. The prefilled report contains app/build/device/OS details, not habit names, schedules, history, backups, billing data, logs, or identifiers.
- The current app has no Morrowstead account, developer-operated backend, advertising SDK, behavioral analytics SDK, or crash-reporting SDK.
- Local Morrowstead data can be removed through the in-app reset/delete controls, Android app-data controls, or uninstall. Exported backup files remain wherever the user chose to save them until the user deletes them.

# Morrowstead Privacy Policy

Morrowstead is a local-first Android habit tracker with an optional Wear OS companion. The Android phone stores canonical habit history and derives the visual settlement from that history. Morrowstead does not require a Morrowstead account or a developer-operated application backend.
## Data stored on your devices
Depending on the features you use, Morrowstead may store the following in app-private storage on your Android phone and, for companion features, your Wear OS watch:
- habit names, categories, schedules, targets, reminder configuration, archive state, and display order;
- completion/count history and the temporal information needed to reproduce progression correctly;
- app preferences such as appearance, graphics profile, motion preferences, haptic preferences, and simplified-world preference;
- a persistent world identity/seed plus derived world or renderer state that can be rebuilt from canonical habit data;
- reminder reconciliation state needed to schedule and deduplicate local notifications;
- bounded phone/watch synchronization state, including the watch’s local mirror and pending mutation outbox;
- a local confirmed-Pro cache used for offline continuity after a Google Play purchase has been verified.
Morrowstead does not use renderer caches as the canonical source of habit history.
## Phone and Wear OS synchronization
When the optional Wear OS companion is used, Morrowstead synchronizes supported habit/schedule/world-summary state and queued watch actions between the paired phone and watch through Google Play services Wear OS Data Layer.
The phone remains the canonical authority for shared history. The watch can retain bounded mirrored state and pending actions so supported interactions can survive temporary disconnection. This data is exchanged through Google Play services between the user’s paired devices; Morrowstead does not operate a separate developer cloud account or sync backend for this purpose.
Google may process technical data needed to provide Android, Wear OS, Google Play services, app distribution, security, and device-to-device platform functionality under Google’s own terms and privacy policies.
## Google Play Billing
Morrowstead can offer an optional one-time Pro purchase through Google Play Billing.
Google Play handles the purchase transaction and payment instrument. Morrowstead does not receive or store your payment-card or bank-account details. Purchase tokens are handled transiently when needed for Play Billing acknowledgement/reconciliation and are not intentionally written to Morrowstead’s persistent app data or logs. The app may keep a local confirmed-Pro boolean so previously verified ownership can remain usable during a temporary Play Store or network outage. A later successful Google Play ownership query can reconcile refund or revocation state.
If Morrowstead is released in a free configuration with the Pro product disabled, the billing/free-cap surface is disabled for that release candidate.
## Notifications and reminders
Morrowstead may request notification permission only when notification/reminder functionality requires it on the Android version in use. Habit reminder scheduling and reconciliation are handled locally from the user’s saved habit configuration.
Morrowstead does not use reminders to create a developer tracking profile.
## Export, import, backup, and device transfer
Morrowstead provides user-initiated export/import through Android’s document picker. An exported backup can contain private habit configuration, history, preferences, and world identity needed to restore the user’s data.
The app does not automatically upload exports. After an export is written, the file is controlled by the storage location or provider the user selected.
Morrowstead explicitly disables automatic Android cloud backup and automatic device-to-device transfer for its app-private data. Users should create and protect their own export if they want an external copy.
Imports are treated as untrusted input and are validated before replacement of canonical data.
## Help and bug reports
**Report a bug** is an explicit user action. Morrowstead opens Android’s share sheet with a bounded prefilled report containing technical details such as app version/version code, the reporting phone manufacturer/model, Android version/API level, and whether the issue concerns the phone or Wear OS companion.
Morrowstead does not automatically attach habit names, schedules, completion history, world state, backup contents, billing data, logs, purchase tokens, or persistent identifiers to that report. The user chooses the destination and can edit the message before sending it.
Information the user deliberately sends to an email provider, messaging app, support destination, or other share target is then handled by that chosen service.
## Advertising, analytics, accounts, and developer backend
The current Morrowstead release does not include:
- a Morrowstead user account;
- a developer-operated application backend or custom cloud sync;
- an advertising SDK or advertising-ID integration;
- a behavioral analytics SDK;
- a crash-reporting SDK.
If any of those capabilities are added in a future release, this policy and the Google Play Data Safety disclosure must be updated before that release.
## Retention and deletion
App-private Morrowstead data remains on the device until it is changed or deleted by the user, removed through Morrowstead’s reset/delete controls, cleared through Android app-data controls, or removed on uninstall according to Android platform behavior.
A Morrowstead export remains in the user-selected storage location until the user or that storage provider removes it.
Clearing local app data does not delete a Google Play purchase record maintained by Google Play. If the purchase is still valid, ownership may be restored through Play Billing reconciliation.
## Security
Morrowstead minimizes permissions and does not intentionally place signing credentials, service-account credentials, purchase tokens, private habit content, or raw exports in production logs.
No software can guarantee absolute security. Morrowstead’s design prioritizes local storage, explicit user-controlled export, bounded paired-device synchronization, minimal third-party services, and deterministic recovery from canonical local data.
## Children
Morrowstead is a general productivity application and does not operate a hosted user-account service designed to collect personal information from children. The Play target-audience declaration must remain consistent with the final release.
## Changes
This policy will be updated before a release that materially changes Morrowstead’s data handling, cloud/backend behavior, account model, analytics, advertising, billing, synchronization, permissions, or support diagnostics.
